OverwatchTasmania.com is a semi-automated site which continually scans news sources, publically available media content and Twitter traffic for items about Tasmania. We use only freely available news and media feeds. This site is in its third incarnation. The first version actively “captured” content and copied it into the site database which quickly led to tens of thousands of entries. This was a useful archive, but a huge resource hog. The second version was a more static links-based site; this third version concentrates on Twitter, YouTube and RSS feeds. This version presents a much more ephemeral picture.
